Bush Owns Up

For an administration that often seems to govern by Fiat , the President made a series of speeches this week that most closely resembled the Lantern . George W. Bush acknowledged flaws in the Iraq policy, warts and all. He estimated that the number of Iraqi citizens killed in the war is around 30,000, and gave a mea culpa for leading the country into war based on faulty reports of weapons of mass destruction. Said Bush, “It is true that much of the intelligence turned out to be wrong…As president, I'm responsible for the decision to go into Iraq."
