It Will Haunt Him

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler ran a Pause he will surely regret today. When asked if he'd like the Bears to acquire the flashy and controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens from the Buffalo Bills, he stayed mum. Big mistake. Here's why:

If you don't follow the NFL, Terrell Owens' favorite past time is running Call Out on his quarterbacks. He's thrown every QB he's ever played with under the bus, including Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, and Tony Romo.

Even if for some suicidal reason Culter wants Owens on the Bears, he should have run a Preempt to establish that T-O would be playing on his terms. He needed to have said, 'If T-O comes, he'll keep his mouth shut. If he wants out of Buffalo, he'll be a good teammate in Chicago.'

Instead, Cutler ran the worst play in the book. By Pause, he put the ball in Owens' hands. It's a play Cutler will surely regret if T-O joins the Bears.
