Matt Nocella and Rob Shrum Talk Politics on SiriusXM
June 9, 2011

If you think presidential politics and strategy is only for shamans, think again. Pictured are Matt Nocella (l) and Rob Shrum (r), graduates of Playmaker Systems CEO Alan Kelly's class, Elements of Infuence, who gave Morning Briefing host Tim Farley some smart takes on the plays of Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and others.

A Changing Fast Food Industry
Fast Food Restaurants Ride the Get Healthy Wave
March 31, 2010
Despite documentary movies such as “Super Size Me,” which spurred McDonald’s to run a much needed Bear Hug and change its ways, most fast food still isn’t good for you. Why do fast food chains remain popular? By recognizing that customers have changing tastes and needs, fast food companies have been able to survive because they run plays that allow them to adapt to the marketplace.
Fast food chains happily Bear Hugged the new health law that requires restaurant chains to post calorie information because many of them have already made the change. When legislators were just thinking about passing calorie-count legislation in 2008, many fast food joints ran a pragmatic Preempt play by making plans to post nutritional information.
Fast food restaurants are also trying to shed the long-standing Screen that they are a reason why 67 percent of American adults over the age of 20 are overweight or obese. To combat this reputation, the industry has been running rebranding Discos by offering healthier food options.
Although there have been improvements, don’t think the McDonald’s and Taco Bells of the world will be running any incriminating Lanterns soon-agreeing with health organizations that their food makes people more than just pleasantly plump. And let’s remember that healthier foods on the menu won’t stop people from buying a meal that is 1,000 calories- half the recommended daily calorie intake. That’s a Bait some just can’t resist.
